1. What we record

PriceDiff records the publicly visible selling price shown on a product's page on Amazon India (amazon.in), Flipkart, Myntra, or Ajio at the time we check it. The recorded value is the actual selling price after platform-level discount tags — not the MRP, and not the percentage-off label. We do not buy or licence pricing data from any third party. Every value on the site is something we observed ourselves from a public product page.

2. When prices are checked

A product enters our system the first time a user pastes its link into PriceDiff. After that, we re-check the product on a recurring schedule that adapts to how often the price has been changing.

The freshness of each reading is shown on the product page as the date next to the price point on the chart. If the latest reading is significantly older than today, confirm the live price on the retailer's page before deciding.

3. How "all-time lowest" is defined

All-time lowest means the lowest price PriceDiff has ever recorded for that specific product on that specific marketplace. It does not mean the lowest the product has been sold for since launch — only the lowest since we began tracking it.

4. The "Should you buy?" verdict

On each product page we show a short buying-window verdict. The verdict is computed by comparing the current price against (a) the lowest price we have ever recorded for that product and (b) the average of every price point we have recorded for it.

  • At or near all-time low: current price is within 2% of the lowest recorded.
  • Below typical price: current price is 5%+ below the all-time average.
  • Around typical price: current price is within a band of the all-time average.
  • Above typical price: current price is 5%+ above the all-time average.

5. The deal score

The deal-score badge combines the current price's distance from the all-time low, its position relative to the rolling average, and the freshness of the latest reading.

6. What we deliberately do not include

  • MRP and discount %. Both are seller-declared and frequently inflated. They are not useful inputs to a price-history tool.
  • Bank offers, coupons, wallet credits. Applied at checkout, they are personal to the buyer.
  • Variant collapsing. Where a single product page sells multiple variants, we track the page-level price.
  • Marketplace ranking and sponsorship signals. We do not boost or suppress any product based on payment.

7. Known limitations

  • Prices change continuously. Between the time we check and the time you click through, the price may move.
  • Stock status, seller, and variant can change on the retailer's page without us noticing immediately.
  • If a product is delisted or its page changes URL, our history for the old URL is preserved but no longer updates.
  • Marketplaces can change page structures, which can temporarily break our reading.

8. Corrections and dispute process

If a price on PriceDiff looks wrong, email [email protected] with the product link and what the correct value should be. We review every report.
